Gear list
Here is my Colorado Trail Gear List if you are interested. Not completely accurate by end of the hike, but mostly everything I used.
Just wanted to let you know that as you hike across the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the North Country National Scenic Trail, there is a shelter on the north end of the pond that is south of Lakeshore Drive/Curly Lewis Highway near the Naomikong Point Overlook. It is off the trail to the west about 100 yards. You can see it across the pond if you are traveling north.
Great thanks! That's good to know. I'll work it out so I can stay there!
I actually made it over to Trout Brook Pond after dropping my pack at Guard Lake. It was a beautiful hike. Lots of trillium and the escarpment was awesome. I back tracked to camp at Guard Lake and then back to 123. Biking the rail trail went well. 500 plus pictures. Hope to edit soon and have a report up quickly.
Not sure if you were able to find my NCT page, as your comment is on the gear list, so here's a link: http://ericshikes.blogspot.com/p/north-country-trail.html?m=1
Also, if you're not in a mobile version you should be able to see a Google map of all the hikes.
Thanks for all the hard work! I look forward to hiking more of the Shore-to-Shore chapter in the coming weeks!
